2023 Ford F-150 4×4 SuperCrew XLT

We upgraded our truck in 2023 because we were starting to experience some engine stalling problems that were intermittent which made it difficult to troubleshoot. Some key features we wanted were the extended range 36-gallon gas tank, 3.5 V-6 Ecoboost for more torque, upgraded Sync display, 10-speed transmission, and the 3.55 differential. What we gave up was our Lariat luxuries like the leather interior, folding side mirrors, and the pre-programmed seat positions.

First Truck

2015 Ford F-150 4×4 SuperCrew Lariat

We bought this truck used in 2019. It was a beautiful truck that did a great job pulling out trailer from coast to coast without only one hitch over four years. We went with an F-150 versus an F-250 because it fit in our garage, was easily within specs for pulling our trailer, and we wanted a comfortable ride while we were touring so we liked the more comfortable suspension. We went with gas versus diesel because of cost and we wanted the flexibility of the multi-fuel engine in the rural areas we often traveled. The extended cab gave us great accessible storage and comfortable seating for passengers. The only negative was that it did struggle on very steep grades but we were able to keep up with all semis in the slow lane so it did not bother us.
