Welcome to Our Travel Blog!
Thank you for stopping by to explore our journey. Our story began in 1979 when we retired and embraced the freedom to travel extensively with our camper. While we don’t live on the road full-time, we’ve made the most of our central location in Kansas City to explore the beauty and diversity of the United States, traveling from coast to coast.
We like to say we’re not campers in the traditional sense but rather adventurers who choose to travel with our “hotel room on wheels.” Our preferred way to travel is leisurely and flexible: we aim to move every 2–4 nights and rarely venture more than 200–250 miles between destinations. Once we set up our base camp, the real adventure begins as we dive into exploring the local area.
Our travels have taken us to a wide variety of attractions, and we’re especially drawn to:
- Natural Wonders: From waterfalls, majestic mountains, and serene lakes to stunning state and national parks.
- Historical Sites: The landmarks and stories that shaped the past and give context to the present.
- Quirky Spots: The offbeat, the unusual, and the delightfully unexpected places and objects that add a touch of whimsy to our travels.
- Man-Made Marvels: Engineering feats, architectural gems, and creative expressions of human ingenuity.
Creating this blog has been an enjoyable way to document our adventures and share the highlights of the places we’ve discovered. We hope it inspires you to explore and enjoy some of these incredible attractions yourself.
Happy travels!
