Campsite Lessons Learned

We really enjoyed staying at the state parks as the campsites were more generally wooded, near water, had some historical or geographical significance, you were able to pick your camp site, and had wider camp sites. The disadvantage was that they had smaller roads to get to them, they were not necessarily near urban areas we wanted to explore, required full payment up front instead of just a deposit, and they generally did not come with full hookups.

I believe that there is value in using a checklist for set up and tear down, but we did not refer to it often. The result was that there were several times that a step was missed that was critical.
We did not spend much time under the awning as I expected. There were several reasons for this: We did not spend much time at the trailer, the trailer was oriented the wrong way for it to provide much help, bugs or weather kept us indoors.
We did not cook outside as much as expected. .This would help take more mess outside and allow us to spend more time outside. We did use my gas grill a couple times but it is inconvenient to clean up and the flame would blow out in a medium wind. We have considered getting a Blackstone Grill in the future, but I am not sure of that urgency unless we cook more outdoors.
We ran the air conditioner constantly and when we didnt, it got hot fast in the trailer. A fan was necessary most of the time to help keep it comfortable.
This was a particularly wet and humid couple of months, and we often went to bed with the sheets feeling wet. We bought a small dehumidifier while we were in Knoxville to help with this. It did draw some humidity out of the air, but I am not sure how effective it was.
