In 2024, we embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, joining an RV travel caravan for an epic journey to Alaska.

June 2024

In June, we set out from Kansas City, heading north through the wide-open landscapes of western Nebraska and South Dakota, with a sense of excitement building as we neared the often-overlooked beauty of North Dakota. Little did we know, this journey would become one of the most thrilling adventures of the year! North Dakota revealed itself to be a treasure trove of rugged landscapes, rich history, and hidden gems that far exceeded our expectations. From the dramatic, sweeping vistas of the Badlands in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, to the quiet charm of its small towns and vibrant cultural landmarks, every stop was a delightful discovery.

Exploring the state felt like stepping back in time, uncovering tales of the past, from Native American history to the legacy of Theodore Roosevelt. We marveled at the pristine wilderness and enjoyed quiet moments in the serenity of wide-open spaces. With its untouched beauty and fascinating heritage, North Dakota quickly became one of our favorite destinations.

After soaking in the wonders of the Roughrider State, we continued our adventure through the scenic Hi-Line of Montana, following the historic Lewis and Clark Trail as we made our way toward Great Falls. The journey through Montana was filled with dramatic views, endless horizons, and more moments of awe, adding another layer of excitement to our unforgettable summer adventure.

Adventure Caravan – 63 Day Alaska & Calgary Stampede (July-Aug 2024)

We embarked on the adventure of a lifetime when we joined an RV caravan in Great Falls, Montana, setting out for the breathtaking wilderness of Alaska. Our journey began with a scenic drive through Alberta, where we made a memorable stop in Calgary to experience the world-famous Calgary Stampede, an exhilarating celebration of rodeo and western heritage. From Calgary, we continued to the majestic landscapes of Banff National Park and Yoho National Park, where turquoise lakes and rugged mountain peaks captivated our senses. We then journeyed north along the iconic Icefields Parkway, taking in panoramic views of glaciers and alpine vistas before reaching the charming town of Jasper, where the beauty of the Rockies left us in awe.

Arriving at Mile 0 of the historic Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, we embarked on the legendary road that would lead us deep into the heart of the Last Frontier. This renowned highway guided us through vast wilderness, towering mountain ranges, and pristine forests, bringing us ever closer to the untamed landscapes of Alaska. Once in Alaska, we explored the state’s major highways, uncovering its wonders from every angle—whether it was spotting majestic wildlife in Denali National Park, cruising the icy waters of Kenai Fjords, or taking a flight to the remote and desolate Arctic Circle.

As we made our way home, we traveled along the scenic Cassiar Highway, where the journey offered one last chance to immerse ourselves in the region’s natural beauty. Here, serene lakes, lush forests, and quiet, untouched landscapes greeted us at every turn. Our caravan adventure concluded in Prince George, British Columbia, marking the end of an epic bucket-list journey that had been filled with camaraderie, awe-inspiring landscapes, and countless unforgettable memories. This journey through the wilds of Canada and Alaska was truly an adventure of a lifetime.

Fall 2024

From Prince George, British Columbia, our journey continued deeper into the breathtaking wilderness of Canada’s most iconic national parks. We began with the towering peaks and cascading waterfalls of Glacier National Park, where the untamed beauty of the landscape left us in awe. Our path then led us to the serene valleys and rugged cliffs of Kootenay National Park, a tranquil escape adorned with soothing hot springs and vibrant meadows bursting with wildflowers. Our adventure took us next to the lush rainforests and sweeping alpine vistas of Revelstoke National Park, a hidden gem teeming with natural splendor.

Crossing back into the United States, we were met by the grandeur of Glacier National Park, where the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road offered jaw-dropping views of pristine wilderness and glacial-carved valleys. From there, we journeyed to Butte, Montana, a historic mining town steeped in rich cultural heritage, and onward to Idaho Falls, where the rushing waters of the Snake River provided a serene and scenic retreat.

Continuing south, we explored the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone National Park, where dramatic geysers, colorful hot springs, and abundant wildlife showcased nature’s raw power. Just beyond, Grand Teton National Park offered an unforgettable backdrop of jagged peaks mirrored in crystal-clear lakes, surrounded by tranquil meadows and endless skies.

Turning eastward, we ventured into the rugged terrain of the Bighorn Mountains and experienced the rich cowboy heritage of Casper, Wyoming. Our journey brought us to Rocky Mountain National Park, where the breathtaking Trail Ridge Road carried us to dizzying heights, revealing expansive alpine tundra and endless panoramas of the majestic Rockies.

As our travels drew to a close, we crossed the golden plains of western Kansas, where the vast, open skies served as a peaceful prelude to the end of our adventure. At last, we arrived in Kansas City, where the familiar skyline greeted us like an old friend. It was the perfect conclusion to a remarkable odyssey filled with natural wonders, cultural treasures, and memories to last a lifetime.
